I never imagined the fun that my friend and I would have experienced. My friend and I planned a trip to Prince of Wales island so we could share this beautiful place together. When we booked our stay I mentioned fishing and whale watching and Curtis was definitely the right choice. He took such care of this experience and it did not disappoint. We were taken to different locations, caught a few nice salmon, and did some amazing whale watching. Beyond being very knowledgeable, Curtis is also friendly making the trip fun. You will start as a costumers but leave as a friend, and hopefully a friend with fish.

I recently had the opportunity to knock off a bucket list trip to Alaska, we went to Craig Alaska with Beacon Adventures and stayed at the Lighthouse Inn with Curtis and Wendy Brown. I highly recommend Curtis as he is very knowledgeable, courteous and definitely puts the needs of his guests first- the fishing was first rate the whales were incredible and the scenery was breathtaking. It was exactly how I pictured Alaska would be amazing trip thank you Curtis and your outfit for making it truly the trip of a lifetime coming from someone who’s done a lot of traveling in the outdoors this was first class and I highly recommend it.

Recently me and my husband visited Craig Alaska and stayed a with Curtis and Wendy and the Lighthouse Inn. My husband asked about fishing and whale watching trip and Curtis was happy to make it happen. The next day we got to experience a once in a lifetime whale watching opportunity. After a few hours watching whales we pulled out the salmon rods and caught our limits in silver salmon and a few yellow eye rock fish! Curtis was super fun to spend time with and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend Curtis, super nice guy and great guide.

The wildlife encounters straight out of a nature documentary. We’ve been treated to majestic whales surfacing right near us and playful seals swimming alongside the boat. Captain Curtis always knows the right spots giving us front row seats to nature‘s greatest shows. The verdict. Captain Curtis shares the absolute best of Alaska for an unforgettable trip that combines welcoming comforts with adrenaline pumping fishing and wildlife, Lighthouse BNB is a 10 out of 10 thank you Curtis for the memories

When we arrived there were 4 other boats in the location he stopped at, he waved at a couple of the other guides giving them a friendly hello. We dropped in and fished. Several minutes passed as we watched a couple of the other guides haul huge salmon on board their boats. Still we waited, then like a bullet out of a gun my son’s line became tight and started spooling. Curtis back down towards the fish as my son reeled it in, it was a king salmon! After a steady 15 minute fight we landed the fish. It was an amazing experience for the whole family. I think Curtis was more excited than any of us. The day ended with more limits and happy faces. I would say if your looking for a guide that’s easy going, friendly and knows how to fish contact Captain Curtis, he will take good care of you and the accommodation and view is amazing.

Last year we were in Craig for a couple days and we rented a room from Curtis at the Lighthouse Inn. The room was great, very clean, fully stocked with breakfast foods, and a wonderful loaf of Lemon bread Curtis said he made. It was very good. We only had a short time so we asked Curtis if it would be possible for half day whale watching trip. He said yes! The next morning we headed out. After a short run we came across a group of 3-4 whales. We enjoyed the show. Then we went to another spot a little further out and found more whales. It seemed Curtis knew right where to go. Then off again for one more spot further down the line to another and final whale spot. To our surprise Curtis pulled out some bread and sandwich fixings , with some chips and water and we had a nice lunch while listening to the whales breath in and out, it was the best part of the trip. Curtis was a very kind host on and off the boat and we highly recommend him to any guests.

Just a couple weeks ago I was in Craig for some work. I stayed at the Lighthouse Inn. It was very quiet and everything needed seemed to be very well thought out. On day two we had finished work early and I saw Curtis as I was heading in, he asked if I wanted to go spend a few hours out, trying to get an evening bite. The weather was calm so I went. We caught one salmon that was too small and came in. This afternoon really made my short work trip special, Prince of Wales is a beautiful place. Curtis is very friendly and outgoing, and fun to talk to. This man does not know a stranger. Highly recommend Lighthouse Inn and Beacon Adventures for your next visit.
